Encontraron su esqueleto junto a un refugio improvisado en la playa, cerca de la rompiente de las olas en medio del Atlántico. Había tratado de sobrevivir solo en una isla desolada que se llama Ascensión. Al lado del cuerpo había un diario en el que estaban registrados los relatos más fantásticos de la historia de alta mar. Había esperado el rescate pero en vez de ello había encontrado su propio infierno privado.
